THE CHARACTERS
HOW WE MADE THIS
Writer/Director Dillon Black developed the idea from seeing those moments play out in real time. The script was refined over the years to narrow into Thomas and his personal life. But to cast that character was a challenge.
That changed when Dillon’s childhood friend, Bradley Hellendoorn, threw his hat into the ring. After that initial audition, Dillon had found his Thomas.
Next came the hard part… Bringing the movie to life. After months of preparations, pulling favors, thousands of dollars, the movie was ready to start!

PRODUCTION
Production begins!
The entire film was shot over three days—on time and on budget—under the masterful eye of First Assistant Director and Producer Peyton “Theo” Dixon.
The crew came together with precision and poise. Rather it being the first or fifteenth production, everyone had opportunity to be heard and supported. Even after the long hours and tight schedule, the crew managed to shoot more than what was scheduled.
This support is what made “The Burnt Offering” possible.
The film wrapped in late 2024. Next came the post-production process. Dillon Black fine tuned the edit, cutting and reshaping the film, as well as several other experts in coloring and sound shaped what you see today.
Dillon decided to take on a new challenge in post…. Composing the score. He had worked in music previously under the alias Nol Dillo. He took on that alias, as well as new techniques and software to create emotionally impactful moments to compliment the films tone.
We present today “The Burnt Offering” to watch in its entirety. Every dollar earned from this project will go directly to the next production.
